Brouwerij 't IJ, a wonderful Dutch brewery, hosts an annual group exhibition around Easter. Each participating artist is given an ostrich egg and free rein to transform it as they wish. For my contribution, I chose to illustrate and paint 12 animals from different family groups, all united by one characteristic: they lay eggs. These include a snail, crocodile, sea star, bird, ant, and of course the only egg-laying mammal, the platypus.
